HOW TO INSTALL

1

GET IT READY!

Whether It’s your first time or tenth plus time installing wallpaper, have found that good music helps with all steps from here on! Relax and make sure you enjoy the process and don’t forget, you will be working within half a meter from the wall and many things you may not be happy with up close, will simply disappear as you step back to a normal viewing position, You’ve got this!!

Clear a good size workable space around the wall you will be applying to. Make sure your wall is clean from dirt, dust and grime.

2

PREPARING FOR YOUR FIRST DROP

Your wallpaper roll is 520mm wide. Use a tape measure to measure in 480mm from the left hand side of wall (the width of the wallpaper minus 40mm). Drop a Spirit level at the 480mm mark and draw a pencil line from the mark at the top to the bottom of the wall. This will give you a perfect plum line for your first drop!

Mix your wall paste as per instructions. Using a paintbrush and a roller, paint your wall slightly wider to the left of the pencil line and wider than the wallpaper width to ensure full coverage.

3

YOU’RE READY TO HANG FIRST DROP

Take your wallpaper roll and line the start of the roll to the top of your wall to the right side of your pencil line. Apply the wallpaper from the top ensuring the paper stays along the pencil line from the top to the bottom.

Trim the wallpaper with about 40mm extra at the bottom. Have a look at your first drop, are there any bubbles? Is it straight along the line? Use your applicator to push the wallpaper tight against the ceiling/ cornice and the skirting board/floor

Trim the top and bottom with a sharp Stanley knife

4

HANGING YOUR SECOND DROP

Paste your next application area with your brush and roller to the left hand side of your first drop ensuring you paste to the edge/corner with even coverage.

Take the remainder of you wallpaper roll and line it up to the first drop, lining the pattern up so as the pattern will repeat seamlessly. You should have overhang at the top and to the left.

Apply from the top ensuring a nice tight fit along the side of your first drop. Trim the bottom with about 40mm overhang. Repeat the end of the 3rd step with your applicator and Stanley knife.

5

YOU’RE A PRO AT THIS!

You can now hang the rest of your roll to the right hand side of the first drop.  Ensure your pattern repeat is correct and trim top and bottom as you go.

6

FINISHING TOUCHES

Once you have hung all of your wallpaper and trimmed all sides, take a look from different angles and look for bubbles and push them out with the applicator.
